Briarfest A Great Success
Thank you to everyone who made Briarfest so much fun. Thanks to our dedicated Briarfest Committee who built on last year's inaugural event to ensure this year's success and over 250 volunteers who joined in to help throughout the weekend to ensure every visitor had a great time! The committee could not have run Briarfest without all these volunteers. Over 150 runners and walkers participated in the second running of the Briarfest Bolt -- a challenging 5K on Saturday morning. Friday's opening started out strong and continued through the weekend, as folks who attended last year looked forward to a repeat of the fun. We counted over 11,450 in attendance. The Silent Auction, Beer Tent (sponsored by our Knights of Columbus), Briarpatch Kids Games, Arts and Crafts Fair, Food Vendors, Wine Tasting, carnival rides, Shroud of Turin presentations, and non-stop entertainment on the stages provided something to entertain everyone!
Special thanks goes to our many sponsors and vendors who supported the event. Sponsors include: The Centurion Group Inc, V3Gate, Red Noland Auto Group, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, H&E Equipment Services, All Rental Center, Coors Distribution Center, Hope Spirits, Security Services and Raytheon Corporation.
If you had fun at Briarfest, be sure to thank the Briarfest Committee members when you see them. They included the following dedicated crew: Ray and Sheila Vigeant, Steve and Sandy Prebeck, Rich and Karen Schoewe, Bobby and Judy Gamble, Oscar and Rose Valdez, Rene and Eleanor Martinez, Jeff and Kathy Thomas, Chris Lyons, Jeff Parker, Kim Seiler, Marc Lanning, Father Kirk Slattery, Dave Wilson, Beth Kaplan, Megan Wichmann, Veronicaand Jered Klodt and Steve Garcia.
