Stations of the Cross and Lenten Fish Fry Tonight

The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a Friday fish fry today immediately following Stations of the Cross. The price for the dinner  is $9.00 per adult, $5.00 per child 3-12 years of age, and children under 3 are free.

Roman Catholic Chamber Choir

On Saturday, March 10, at 7:00 pm, St. Gabriel parish will host a Lenten concert by the Roman Catholic Chamber Choir.  This choir has been in existence for several years, and is now directed by Kate Johnson, the former St. Mary’s Cathedral music director. The program will include sacred music from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods, and also from the father of American choral music, with works by Gesualdo, Palestrina, Hassler, Anerio and Billings.  This music represents the sound of the Church in the 1500-1700s, and it promises to be a beautiful, prayerful evening to center your Lenten prayer.  A free-will offering will be accepted.  Don’t miss it!

Responsibilities

Using specified cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing agents and following specific procedures, work patterns, and routines

Receive assignment; assemble needed materials and supplies, load service cart and transport to work areas

Various cleaning tasks (such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, polishing, and removing trash)

February Gabriel’s Gift Donation

1582 pounds plus $50 was delivered to Mercy’s Gate from the February Gabriel’s Gift Food Collection. Thank you to all parishioners who donate to this worthy cause.

A Lent to Remember explores the ways God reaches out to each of us with his mercy. Through Christ’s suffering on the cross in the Paschal Mystery and his perpetual reception of his people in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, God makes his love, his very self, present to us in the world. By  reflecting on the Paschal Mystery and making a step-by-step examination of the Rite of  Confession, A Lent to Remember communicates God’s invitation to each one of us to come experience his indescribable love this Lent. Classes are March 8, 15, and 22 from 6:30-8:30pm in the Vianney/Nicholas Room.
