Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – Holy Thursday/ Good Friday

At the end of the Holy Thursday liturgy, the Blessed Sacrament is transferred from the tabernacle to a Chapel of Repose, where we spend time in adoration. Our parish period of Eucharistic Adoration will begin immediately after the Mass on Holy Thursday (March 29) and continue through the night, ending on Good Friday (March 30) at 2pm, immediately before the Friday Passion of the Lord. We need adorers to spend at least one hour with Our Lord. A sign-up sheet is located in the Narthex. If you have any questions, please contact Kathy Thomas, 528-8407, or email kthomas at saintgabriel.net.

Good Friday Collection

Our diocese is called on to support Christians in the Holy Land on Good Friday, March 30, 2018. Through the Good Friday Collection, you join with Catholics from around the world to stand in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land. When you contribute to the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, you become an instrument of peace in a troubled land. Pope Francis has asked all of us to support the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, which helps Christians in the Holy Land. Your support helps the church minister in parishes, provide Catholic schools and offer religious education. The Pontifical Good Friday Collection also helps to preserve the sacred shrines. The wars, unrest and instability have been especially hard on Christians. In these times of crisis, the Pontifical Good Friday Collection provides humanitarian aid to refugees. Our diocese will support Christians in the Holy Land through the Good Friday Collection. This Pontifical Collection makes it possible for us to participate in the care of the most holy shrines to Christianity and to care for the People of God in the Holy Land. Please be as generous as your abundance allows.

Divine Mercy Sunday

In preparation of the Feast of Divine Mercy on Sunday, April 8, Bishop Sheridan has asked parishioners throughout the Diocese of Colorado Springs to join together to pray the Novena to Divine Mercy. Each day of the Novena you will pray for God’s mercy for a different group of people, as Jesus instructed through His messages of Divine Mercy to St. Faustina.

Novena brochures with the daily prayers and how to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be handed out after all Masses, the weekend of March 24/25. Be sure to take one home for your family. Good Friday is the first day of the Novena and will be the day to start the prayers.

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed after all Masses, the weekend of April 7/8, Divine Mercy weekend. The Chaplet honors Jesus’ passion and is prayed to atone for our sins and the sins of the whole world. There will be a table in the Narthex should you wish to purchase a Divine Mercy image for your home after Masses that weekend.

Your personal Divine Mercy images will be blessed at the April 8 Divine Mercy 3 pm Holy Hour.

Living in Easter as a New Creation in Christ!

April 2, 16, 30, May 14

6:30 – 8pm/Saint Neumann rm.

Join Deacon Dave Geislinger as we contemplate the "New Life" to which we are called as we cele-brate the Easter Season. We may wonder what that looks like or, more precisely, how it differs from the old life we are to leave behind. Through study recent encyclicals, we will discover with ever greater clarity this "new Life" to which all Catholics have been called
