Second Collection This Weekend
A humanitarian catastrophe is unfolding in Ukraine as attacks of war put millions of lives at risk. Innocent families, women, girls, and the elderly will suffer most. In our Diocese we have a unique opportunity to help refugees in Poland. Our Diocese is working directly with the Diocese of Tarnow, Poland. The Diocese of Tarnow has requested that the parish halls in each of their parishes be turned into shelters to house refugees. We are confident that 100% of our collections will go to directly help the refugees who are being helped by the Catholic parishes in Tarnow. We will be taking a special second collection on March 19 and 20 to go directly to help Ukrainian Refugees in Poland. We are grateful for your generosity.

Mercy’s Gate food pantry collection is March 26 and 27
Please support our Mercy’s Gate food pantry collection next weekend by dropping off your donation at the Knight’s of Columbus trailer before all the masses.
Most needed items: boxed milk, canned fruit, canned vegetables, condiments and snacks (granola bars). Needed pantry staples: soup, chili, ravioli, spaghetti sauce, dried pasta, macaroni and cheese, rice (small bags or boxes), instant mashed potatoes, Hamburger Helper, canned chicken and tuna, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, instant oatmeal, coffee, individually wrapped snacks for kids, fruit cups, crackers (in sleeves), milk boxes, juice boxes, baby formula and baby food. Needed nonfood items include toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, shaving cream, razors, deodorant, diapers and toilet paper. The food pantry also needs gently used paper and plastic grocery bags. The food pantry staff reports that cake mixes and canned frosting have been in high demand. Please consider including these items, along with some birthday candles in your donation. Such a small gesture can make someone’s day! Thank you.

Easter Baskets for Foster Kids
Thank you to everyone who took a tag this week to provide a full Easter basket or items to go towards an Easter Basket for the foster kids sponsored by the Fostering Hope program. Please return your donations to the Easter tree along with the tag. Request you return the items the weekend of April 2-3, but we must have the items by April 10 so we can distribute them to the families in time for Easter. We are also asking for donations of extra Easter baskets you may have in your homes and no longer need. Just place them under the Easter Tree. We are also accepting monetary donations to help purchase additional items. If you would like to donate, there are envelopes at the welcome desk and you can place the envelope with the donation in the white mailbox to the left of the office door. You can also donate online on the Saint Gabriel website or go to https://giving.parishsoft.com/app/giving/stg8755101 and choose the Fostering Hope fund.
